Manchester Futsal Club continues to expand its international outlook, as Head of Operations and Assistant Coach Jan Krumins represented the club at the UEFA Futsal Euro 2026 fixtures in Riga, attending Latvia vs Croatia and Ukraine vs Czech Republic.

Jan’s visit formed part of MFC’s ongoing commitment to developing staff to the highest levels of the European game, studying player standards, tournament organisation, and building relationships that can support the club’s long-term growth.
Learning from the European Stage
Across both matches, Jan observed the technical level, tactical detail, and physical intensity of international futsal - all key reference points as Manchester Futsal Club continues raising standards within its first team and development pathway.
Major UEFA tournaments provide a benchmark for where the modern game is heading, and these insights help ensure MFC remains aligned with the demands of elite futsal.

“Experiencing international futsal live gives a completely different understanding of the speed, detail and decision-making required at the top level,” Jan reflected. “It’s important we bring those standards back into our environment.”
Building Relationships in Latvia
A key highlight of the visit was a meeting with the co-founders of Riga Futsal Club, Martins Petrovs and Deniss Gaidukovs. Discussions focused on how futsal is developed in Latvia, club structures, player pathways, and potential areas for future collaboration between the two organisations.
This exchange of ideas is part of MFC’s wider strategy to connect with progressive futsal projects across Europe.

Growing Through Global Experience
For Manchester Futsal Club, these international visits are about more than just watching matches - they are about building cultural understanding, professional relationships, and new opportunities that benefit the entire club, from first team to academy level.
As MFC continues its journey as a Champions League-level club, learning from different futsal nations and collaborating with forward-thinking organisations will play a vital role in shaping the club’s future.
Jan’s visit to Riga represents another step in that direction and the club looks forward to developing relationships across Europe as it continues working to grow the game and create new pathways for its players and staff.
