We are excited to announce the launch of our brand-new initiative—the MFC Youth Academy Weekly Challenge! Starting from today, we’ll be posting weekly challenges on our Instagram page to help youth players improve their futsal technique. This progressive journey is designed for players aged U6 through U14, with challenges getting tougher each week to push players to improve their technique.
The concept is simple: every week, a new challenge will be set. Players must practice and complete the challenge throughout the week to move on to the next level. The goal is to continuously refine techniques and build essential skills over time. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to perfect your footwork, this journey will help you grow, step by step, under the guidance of our first-team players and academy coaches.
Ilya Ovechkin, Academy Director, explains the importance of the initiative: "This is a great initiative that the MFC Youth Academy is introducing for our players. We want to accelerate our players learning process, as one or two hours a week we have with the players during regular training may not be enough to cover everything. Through this program, we’re giving our players the opportunity to benefit from more focused, ongoing practice, which will significantly improve their development."
Each challenge will be supported by demonstration of our first-team players and academy coaches, helping players stay on track. As an added incentive, there will be prizes up for grabs for those who excel, including signed first team shirt, futsal ball, and tickets to Manchester Futsal Club’s home games.
Raducio King, Head of Coaching, highlights the focus on technical development: "I firmly believe in the importance of technique. I want our players to be expressive and aggressive when on the ball, while always maintaining a high level of technical ability. This initiative will ensure all our academy players continue to develop"
